Implementation framework for sustainable and future-proof communities
The 2000-Watt Smart Cities stands for sustainable future living. Living a comfortable and healthy life today is a challenge due to various environmental and man-made issues. Local regulatory and government agencies intend to address these challenges to improve citizens’ quality of life. A major challenge to building a sustainable future is the increasing stress on urban infrastructure. With the mission of building and operating 2000-Watt Smart Cities, the 2000-Watt Society has developed a series of research-driven solutions for smart and sustainable living. This mission is also envisaged as a social and local economic booster force towards a sustainable future The 2000-Watt Society is an environmental vision introduced in 1998 by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETH in Zurich, Switzerland. This concept is about reducing the overall average primary energy usage rate to no more than 2000 watts per person and the greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050, while also improving the quality of life at the same time.
